Vatican has displayed a unique Way of the Cross

   Stations of the Cross, or in Latin it is Via Crucis, consists of 14 stations, which represent some moments of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. However, these very Stations of the Cross differ from others. The height of each station is 6 feet (1.8 meters). This Stations of the Cross is considered to be the biggest in the world. There is a similar one in Lourdes, but the shapes of the stations are a little bit smaller.
They started to make the Way of the cross 7 years ago. It is a mutual project of municipalities of Coquimbo (Chile) and Rome.
From today and up to the end of April this original Way of the Cross will be situated on the Roman Via della Conciliazione, the main street leading to the Vatican. Thousands of tourists pass this Way of the Cross.After Rome, the figures of the stations will be transported to Chile.
   In 2012, they will move to Coquimbo and will be placed on the hill of San Miguel. There they will remain.
   As the Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanni has pointed out that "This Way of the Cross will help all pilgrims and inhabitants of Rome to understand the mystery of faith, Easter and the Resurrection much better".
